Frit
Titanium White Frit
Composition: Mainly composed of titanium dioxide (TiO₂) as the opacifying and whitening agent, combined with oxides such as boron, silicon, and aluminum.
Key Functions:
> Provides a strong white and opaque effect, widely used in ceramic glazes.
> Enhances glaze whiteness and opacity, making colors more vivid.
> Improves chemical stability and mechanical strength of the glaze.
Applications:
> Daily-use ceramics, sanitary ware, and construction ceramics.
> Works well with ceramic pigments, ensuring uniform dispersion and improved color performance.
Transparent Frit
Composition: Based on borosilicate glass composition, with little or no opacifying agents, maintaining high transparency.
Key Functions:
> Creates a glossy, transparent glassy layer, commonly used as a base transparent glaze.
> Can be combined with coloring oxides or ceramic pigments to produce stable color effects.
> Enhances surface gloss and chemical resistance of ceramics.
Applications:
> Colored glazes, decorative tiles, and artistic ceramics.
> Frequently used as a “carrier frit” for functional frits or ceramic pigments.
Matt Frit
Composition:
> Mainly composed of oxides such as boron, silicon, aluminum, calcium, and magnesium.
> A matte surface is achieved by adjusting the ratio of glassy phase to crystalline phase, or by adding specific crystallizing agents such as zirconium oxide or aluminum oxide
Key Functions:
> Produces a soft, non-reflective matte finish after firing.
> Improves the surface texture of ceramics by reducing glare.
> Creates decorative effects that are natural and warm, different from glossy glazes.
> Offers good wear resistance and chemical stability.
Applications:
> Architectural ceramics (floor tiles, wall tiles).
> Sanitary ware and daily-use ceramics.
> Artistic ceramics and premium decorative products.
