Zircon Flour
Zircon flour is manufactured by milling zircon sand, usually in ball mills, either in the dry state or in a slurry.
It is used in a variety of applications, including ceramic frits, foundry mold coatings, ceramic shells for investment casting, refractories, friction products, insulating fibers, and glass.
Depending on the application, the particle size is available in a variety of specifications. Currently, the product specifications we have are:
ZF-75 : 200 mesh(-75 µm)
ZF-65 : 325 mesh(-45 µm)
Zircon Flour is used in ceramic glazes, glass, refractory materials, and plastics industries. It's great as an opacifier for glazes. Adding small amounts of zircon helps improve the mechanical strength of the glass and gives the glass fibers used in glass-reinforced concrete alkaline resistance. Zircon powder is also used as a refractory cleaner in furnaces, as a fine ingredient in pressed zircon refractories, and as a filler in epoxy resins. Finely ground zircon, known as "zircon flour," is also used in refractories and friction products.
